Depth Enhanced Visualization of 3D Data on 3D Devices
Abstract:
Visualization of 3D data has entered a new era with rapid development 3D display technologies, where the third dimension can be of great use for visualization tasks. Therefore, new 3D visualization frameworks should be built that enable exploration, path finding in complex data. We present a visualization framework for enhancing an 3D graph data by automatically selecting an appropriate depth cue combination depending on the task, spatial layout of the scene, and the costs of the rendering methods. An algorithm for automatically determining the appropriate depth cue combination and task is introduced. The proposed algorithm is based on fuzzy logic then a knapsack model for selecting proper depth enhancement methods, evaluating the cost and profit of these methods.
