Project Title:	Virtualization and clouds for HPC and grid computing
Abstract:	Virtualization and cloud technologies has already shown their usefullness for running persistent services. An area where the technologies are currently being investigated is what benifits it can bring to high performance and grid computing. Some benefits are expected to be - the possibility for the user to completely control his environment - the possibility for a HPC center to seamlessly acquire more resource by buying the from a commersial provider This project would involve investigating the possibility of setting up an HPC system featuring the possibility of running jobs in a virtualized environment and with the possibility of starting jobs elsewhere. The departmens test cluser benedict will be available for running the experiments.
