Project Title:	Understanding the Internet of Things, People and Services.
Abstract:	The Internet of Things, or IoT, is a vision of the future. Its definition is still fuzzy, but all the people that share such vision also share the same belief: it is possible to create a world-wide network of interconnected objects, or things, that will have an active role in the Future Internet. In fact, this IoT also enables the Internet of People, Things and Services (IoPTS), as the services provided by the interconnected objects can be used to improve the daily lives of many people. There are a wide range of technologies that will be involved in building the IoPTS, such as: - Enhanced communication networks (UWB, 3G, 4G) - Identification technologies (RFID) - Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) However, these technologies are usually not well known (or even understood). In order to make them usable and useful for todays software engineers, it is necessary to study their underlying structures (e.g. 6LowPAN), their benefits, their requirements, and their interdependences. As a result, these technologies will start to become embedded in our society, and the vision of the IoPTS will become clearer.
