Project Title: Design of an IT-infrastructure for renting e-bikes in change stations with automatic access on car parks
Abstract: In connection with e-mobility there exist new concepts for using cars and other vehicles. One of these concepts is based on the vision of a long-term coexistence of classical cars with combustion engines and innovative electric vehicles. One important part of this concept are change stations on car parks, where single persons or families or other groups of persons arriving by cars with combustion engines can rent electric bikes. Thus, the car may be used for medium and long distance drives, whereas the e-bike serves for mobility in small urban regions with access restrictions for ecological and other reasons. A special idea concerns an automatic access to stations on car parks with e-bikes. The task of the Master Thesis concerns the design of an IT-infrastructure by which persons can order, reserve and rent e-bikes in advance and as authenticated persons get access to the ordered number of bikes in a change station that is normally closed. Thus the main functions of this infrastructure concern ordering, reservation, billing, authentication, access to the ordered bikes (unblocking the right door), access to an empty slot for a returned bike, registration and administration of the current states of bikes and slots in the change station Remark: This master Thesis concerns only the IT-infrastructure, not the construction of the change station. For the latter there is another proposal of the IIEF GmbH for a Master Thesis.
