Project Title:	Development of vision-based user interfaces for computer input at a distance through gestural interaction (more than one thesis)
Abstract:	Gestural input at a distance is important in all those cases where a keyboard is not available (e.g. input for game consoles, Internet TV, input during presentations, etc.). Prerequisites: basic knowledge of computer vision principles, good programming skills (Java, C++). After investigating the state of the art of gesture-based vision interfaces, the theses should follow the following scheme: choose a specific input strategy (e.g. virtual keyboard, graffiti input, etc.) define hardware requirements (possibly, cheap webcam(s) and low computational power) choose technical approaches to the problem (e.g. template-based, appearance-based, 3D, skin-color, etc. techniques) Implement and test the system
