Project Title:	A Computer Assisted Diagnosis System For Searching Cell Image Databases
Abstract:	Computer-aided system analyzes cell images by registration, segmentation, feature extraction, indexing, classification and search processes. Images are indexed according to resolutions thus the same images from different resolutions are matched. Then the cells with their nuclei are located using a segmentation procedure and features describing these segmented cells are extracted. These features are used to sort the cells according to their abnormality degree. After the cells are ordered the system can classify these cells according to extracted features and to prevent possible classification errors the system enables to the doctors an interactive interface to change the borders of the segmented items and their classification. In searching procedure according to the extracted features the items are ranked according to their similarity degree to the reference item called query. In our project, we will work on mainly the segmentation and the searching parts, beside these main parts we will work with other senior design group on the feature extension and the interactive interface parts of the system.
