Project Title:	Line and Word Detection on Ottoman Manuscripts
Abstract:	Although the problem of handwriting recognition has been considered for many years, there were not enough studies focusing on the recognition and analysis of Ottoman manuscripts. Currently, there are thousands of Ottoman manuscripts waiting to be digitalized and analyzed. However, due to the lack of people who are qualified to translate them, these priceless documents remain untranslated in the archives. Since it would be really difficult and time consuming to translate them by hand, this project would be the primary step to automate the process of translation by detecting the lines, words, and margins.
