Abstract:
From a simple client-server network, the Internet has evolved into a very complex system where new paradigms (e.g. Grid computing, Cloud computing) are being used to solve real-life problems. The nature of these paradigms and the technologies that are being used to enable them are usually not known. Therefore, it is necessary to study how to provide an introduction to this topic in a meaningful way, in order to allow future IT professionals not only to understand the principles behind these paradigms, but also to make use of them and apply them in their daily lives.
